ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
FamilySearch, in addition to microfilming and digitizing documents at various archives around the world, also has a method to convert already microfilmed documents into a digital format. The results are usually very good, but once in awhile the digital format is not as clear as it might be. Consequently, when we went to Frankfurt, Germany, a few weeks ago, we received a new project, which is to use a special computer and program to enhance these images.
We are currently still in the learning process, but the archivists we are working with in Drome, France, are pleased with our work, so we will be going full steam ahead shortly.
We are still doing our other document preparation for the Mons Archive's collection. As only one of us can use the computer at a time, we can keep both projects going simultaneously. It really has been fun to learn this new skill and have a diversion from the same thing day after day.
